The reasons we love Easter here at Movebubble are almost endless: TWO bank holidays, chocolate, music festivals, brunch, the clocks go forward (which means lighter evenings - summer is on its way!), egg hunts, Sunday roasts, and did I mention chocolate?
However you want to spend your extra few days this Easter weekend, London has something to cater for your every whim. As a life-long Londoner, I’ve selected what I think are the best that this wonderful city has to offer over the bank holiday weekend.
Famous for its huge steins of beer, bratwurst, and the fact that all staff wear traditional German attire, the Bavarian Beerhouse is one of London’s best venues for a hilarious night with friends. This Easter weekend, their resident DJ will be breaking out the Oktoberfest tunes from 7pm, starting Thursday 24th until Saturday 26th – this will surely be an evening of good solid fun.

For something a little bit different after Easter dinner, why not try heading down to the Backyard Comedy Club in Bethnal Green? An eclectic mix of London’s comedic talent will surprise you and have you in stitches at the same time. The club itself is very relaxed, with a fully stocked bar and both pool and ping-pong tables! All for only £5 - go on, get the giggles.

If you’re planning on spending Easter weekend in the heart of our fair city, Covent Garden is hosting a lavish display of all things Easter. French patisserie Ladurée have teamed up with Japanese designer, Yuko Higuchi to create their adorable Easter collection with a message of love and beauty. Famous for collaborating with the best in art and fashion, Ladurée have done it again this time around! Swing by their shop in the Market to pick up your Easter treat!

After something a little bit more grown-up? Just hop just across the road to Dirty Martini. Their expert mixologists have cooked up some delicious, limited edition ‘Choctails’ – that’s chocolate cocktails to you and I. There are three delightful choices: the Maltease, the White Rabbit, and the Chocolate Martini (naturally). Head down on Easter Sunday where they’ll be serving all three for just £6 all night.

Release your inner child and take part in Kensington Rooftop Garden’s Easter egg hunt! Little ones can search for Easter treats throughout the gorgeous 1.5 acre roof garden (complete with flamingos) under close supervision from the Easter bunny. Grown ups can relax, take in the view, and treat themselves to Kensington Roof Garden’s special Easter cocktail menu. Fun for everyone, and there’s even a special prize for one lucky egg-hunter…

For the more experienced chocolatier among us, there is the absolute pinnacle of chocolate adoration. Chocolate Ecstasy Tours offer 3 hour tasting sessions of some of the finest boutiques London has to offer. Ranging from the Queen’s favourite to shops that date back over 100 years – you will not be left disappointed! This Easter, they are offering tours in Mayfair and Chelsea across the bank holiday weekend, make sure you book soon to avoid disappointment.
A little further west, the wonderful Kew Gardens is hosting it’s annual Easter festival, which runs until 10th April 2016. Celebrating the origins of chocolate, there’s a load of activities including a Lindt gold bunny flavour trail and bean to bar workshops. If you plan on heading down over the Easter weekend, make sure it's Sunday as the first 4,000 visitors all receive a pair of Lindt gold bunny ears completely free, so hop on down! (Sorry, I couldn’t resist…)
The lovely boys at Percolate are taking over Brixton this Easter Weekend, bringing us one of the best line-ups you’ll see in London this weekend. It boasts, Crazy P, Romare, and Dele Sosimi Afrobeat Orchestra, and more! During the day, they’ll be in POP Box Brixton nestled amongst the amazing selection of edgy cocktail bars and mouth-watering food stalls, killing it with laid back party vibes. When the sun sets, they’ll be moving over to Electric Brixton where the real party begins. Definitely not one to miss this weekend. This party is set to be great!

The world-famous Oxford v. Cambridge boat race has a new look this year, now sponsored by Cancer Research UK it has been rebranded the ‘Cancer Research Boat Race’ and takes place this Easter Sunday 27th March. The race starts at 3.10pm for women's, and 4.10pm for men’s, however river-side events start from 12pm at Bishop’s Park, and the Adnams Fan Park. The race goes from Putney Bridge to Mortlake in Surrey. Make sure to check before you travel this year as there are lots of planned engineering works going on!
The Nation’s favourite all-round legend Idris Elba is hitting the decks at Egg London this Thursday 24th March. He’s joined by a super-secret special guest, which will be announced on the night – but is sure not to disappoint! Tickets are only £15, and are on final release so get in quick to make sure you don’t miss out on Idris’ signature house and party tracks that will no doubt have the room in a frenzy.
