9 apps you need when moving to London

Time poor already? Welcome to the pace of London! From booking a taxi, to organising a flat to rent, or even trying to sort out a meal with friends; time disappears in the fast pace of London… Here is a rundown of the 10 must-have apps you need to download when first moving to London.

Uber

Getting a taxi in London is a pain, just like any other major city but it’s nice to arrive on time and in style. Uber is the first choice to make sure this happens in London - make sure you make a good first impression. Most of the Uber Exec cars are E class Mercedes or BMW 5 series, and have phone chargers - so if you hotspot your phone you can even get some work done between meetings. If you’re running late or in a rush a black cab can always be handy as they can use bus lanes, so it may also be worth having Halo installed on your phone to save hailing a cab from the pavement.

Made

Okay, so strictly not an app but I thought it should be added to the list otherwise you are going to end up like Steve Jobs in a empty Mansion! Once you find that amazing warehouse conversion or stunning Georgian pad, it’s time to make it yours. Make sure the interior is just as great and kit out the rest of the place with cool furniture or fab fittings! Made have a great selection of designer furniture at reduced prices as they have no physical stores and will deliver it direct to your door!

Citymapper

Public transport is never that much fun, but hey, Citymapper makes it a little bit more bearable! Another great London start-up success - which only adds to the appeal. London by Londoners with helpful tips (like which tube carriage to get on to avoid having to walk all the way down the platform) that even most locals don’t know. Definitely much more fun (and accurate!) than Google maps.
