London is one of the coolest places on the planet; who wouldn't want to live there? There's something for everyone, and these celebrities love it so much, they've taken up permanent residence.
Some of the celebrities who live in London
Chris Martin, Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna, Richard Branson, Robbie Williams, All of One Direction (we know: they've split up, but they'll always be one to us), David and Victoria Beckham, Jude Law, Kate Moss, Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter, Tori Amos, Bill Bryson, Gillian Anderson, Kylie Minogue, High Grant, Liz Hurley, Michael Caine, Elton John, Paul McCartney, and many more!
But where do celebrities live in London?
The first place that comes to mind when you think of celebrities in London is Notting Hill, with connotations dating back to the film of the same name starring Julia Roberts and Rhys Ifans. The area features some wonderfully colourful houses, and celebrities you may spot in the area include Richard Branson, Robbie Williams and Elle Macpherson.
Mick Jagger lives right near Richmond Park, with Colin Firth not too far away. Sandra Bullock is a resident there, renting a mansion just behind Brad Pit and Angelina Jolie... well until they spilt up, that is. Then there's Sandra Bullock, who is believed to have residence there. You may even find her roaming Richmond Park and feeding the deers.

Head two miles closer to Regent’s Park and you’ll find St John’s Wood, an area with more star power than Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. From well-aged rock stars Keith Richards and Sir Paul McCartney, violin playing Aston Villa-fan Nigel Kennedy, to pop star Lily Allen and film icon Ewan McGregor, you’ll find all types of celebrities in St John’s Wood.

Highgate is one of the sleepier areas in North London, which is probably why so many celebs love it. It’s away from the hustle and bustle of central London, and you can expect to see the likes of Jude Law, Kate Moss and Sting enjoying the acres of green space and village lifestyle in N6.

South East London’s East Dulwich is another area that managed to successfully incorporate a village vibe - especially in the conveniently named Dulwich Village. Celebs who have called this area their home at one time or another include Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman James Nesbit, the late Boris Karloff and Steve Frost.
There is a whole lot of Kensington to go around, from West Kensington to South Kensington. Yet it still remains one of the most exclusive postcodes in the capital - and celebrities know it. Victoria and David Beckham kick it in the Ken, while Kylie Minogue and Nigela Lawson have called the area home.

A little bit of scratching the surface reveals that most the Made in Chelsea stars don’t even live in Chelsea!! The public-schooled new generation of 'Sloane Rangers' currently reside outside of Chelsea as it’s too pricey. The likes of Ollie Locke, Caggie Dunlop and Louise Thompson all currently reside in Fulham!
But where do the stars hang out, you ask? Jason Atherton’s speak-easy Soho Bar draws in the A-listers, while a bit of sophisticated celebrity-spotting can be had at Sir Ian McKellen’s The Grapes on the pebbled pathways of Limehouse Reach. For the super-cool bohemian stars, Camden Town’s The Hawley Arms is backed by the boys from The Mighty Boosh. If you’re looking to rub shoulders with the Made in Chelsea stars, Hollywood Arms on Hollywood Road in Chelsea is the place to find them, or is it?
Surrey’s “Golden Triangle” is where you’ll find footballer John Terry's home (pictured above), as well as Peter Crouch and Abbie Clancy’s £4.5 million home. The duo's neighbours include Cheryl Cole and Andy Murray. Further to the west you’ll find an older, more distinguished regiment of residents, featuring the likes of Sir Elton John, Sir Cliff Richard and Sir Nick Faldo.
