Here at Movebubble, we like to put faces to the names who are helping our awesome partners and renters. That’s why we’re running “Meet the Movebubblers.” Over the coming weeks and months, you’ll get to know our team, learn what makes them tick, and find out more about their role.
This week we’re turning our attention to David, Movebubble’s Commercial Director. So, without further ado, say hello to David.
Who are you?
David Buzzard, Commercial Director at Movebubble.
What do you love about working for Movebubble?
It’s got to be the fast, dynamic and entrepreneurial environment you see on a day-to-day basis. And I love working with the great people here!
Tell us about your journey so far
I’ve been in real estate for my whole career and was awarded a fellowship of the RICS in 2016 for my contribution to the sector. I started in construction and development, but the recession in 2007 pushed me into finance and banking for a few years.
This led to a career as a consultant for five years, where I advised funds on property deals (including funding the first ski run in Africa). Over the last few years, I’ve specialised in advising family offices on the acquisition of real estate assets across Europe, and I still continue to sit on two property boards in Norway.
What does your day-to-day look like at Movebubble?
My days are varied and include everything from stand-ups to video calls and partner calls/pitches. I deal with contracts, deal boards and product and sales strategies. You’ll also find me in leadership team meetings and creating sales and marketing strategies.
What do you love about your role?
I love working and forming relationships with partners to help create a better ecosystem for all involved. Doing deals is also an area that I particularly enjoy. You could say it’s me in my natural habitat.
How is Movebubble doing it for renters?
We are continually improving and developing the platform based on renter and partner feedback, which is essential to creating a better landscape for renters.
And for our last question, what’s your favourite area?
I’m going to go south of the river here and say Battersea. It’s got the best parks, and Battersea Power Station is one to watch in 2021.
Anything else you’d like to add?
Yes! I’ll be hosting the UKAA webinar, looking at what the future looks like for build-to-rent post-Covid-19. It’ll cover how the market is showing signs of recovery, are we ready for business as usual and how technology will look on the other side of the lockdown. Guests include expert speakers from Grainger, Vertus and Essential Living.
It’s taking place on May 7th, and I’d love to see you there.
