Movebubble named as start-up of the month
We’re excited to announce that office search engine FreeOfficeFinder has chosen Movebubble as one of their start-ups of the month for April 2016
. This is a new award that aims to recognise some of the most unique and driven young businesses in the country, and Movebubble fits into that bracket perfectly. We caught up with Daniel Kidd, Content Manager at FreeOfficeFinder
to hear more about the award. Hey Dan! So what gave you the idea to start this award scheme?
As an office search engine, we work with hundreds of businesses in helping them find office space, many of them start-ups. Because start-ups are an important part of our business, we have decided to run a monthly award to try and help start-ups across the country gain a little bit of free publicity. Not only do the chosen start-ups have their own feature on our website, but we send the results to our huge mailing lists of businesses and professionals across the UK.Awesome, so how does it work?
At the start of the month we send invitations via social media (Twitter mostly) to start-ups who would like to be considered for the monthly award. We also search the internet to find great enterprises that might not have seen our social media invitations. Any type of business can apply, but generally we’re looking for something unique and original, with bonus points for start-ups that aim to help people and not just make money. How do you decide on the winners?
Once we sent out the Tweet (using a #Journorequest – always use that if you want to find something out on social media), we were very surprised by the amount of people applied for the award. After the first day we had over 100 start-ups involved, with over 130 by the end of the week. Because of this, not only did it take a little longer to view all the applicants, but it made narrowing it down to 5 quite difficult. In the end, we chose a wide variety of businesses. We chose Movebubble to be included in this award because of how stressful the moving process can be in London. Rents are sky-high and you stand the chance of being charged excessive agency fees when you move. A company who tries to help the process become less stressful is great in our book.Movebubble started from the founders’ terrible renting experiences, and we think that using bad experiences to try and stop others going through the same thing is something worth celebrating. Hopefully the fact that Movebubble has been included in our award this month will help many more Londoners discover the app and have a less stressful experience next time they rent a place!
